Reflection 101 with YA-MAN’s Versatile New LED Vanity Mirror

Mineral Air’s parent company YA-MAN is pleased to announce the USA launch of its LED Vanity Mirror. Brooklyn-based Aesthetic Living maestro of CarloSays.com Carlo Geraci, has plenty of insights into it and mirrors in general that you’ll definitely want to look into.

YA-MAN, manufacturer and distributor of Mineral Air, is one of Japan’s pioneer developer of at-home beauty devices. Now, the company has brought its technological expertise to the most basic beauty tool there is, the mirror. The new multitasking LED Vanity Mirror offers five brightness settings, a 30-minute auto-shutoff, built-in adjustable angle stand and a moveable, attachable, 4" diameter round mirror with 10x magnifying power for close application.

The precision picture

The superiority here can be measured with Color Rendering Index (CRI), a calculation of how accurately a light source reflects true colors and expressed in a range from 0 to 100. A higher CRI indicates a more accurate color reflection of a face. While most LED-lighted mirrors have CRIs of 80 or lower, LED Vanity Mirror leads the industry with CRIs of 90 and above–creating the most natural color reflections available.

But there’s a lot more to mirrors than meets the eye (pun intended) and makeup artist Carlo Geraci is here to clarify:

On the go dynamics

“Hotel rooms, their bathrooms and regular office bathrooms are notorious for their bad lighting,” Carlo notes. “Unfortunately, getting your makeup right in those places can be next to impossible.”

PROBLEM SOLVED: The lightweight and unbreakable LED Vanity Mirror is totally portable. It can slip into a briefcase or laptop bag with ease. Or, there’s also an available carrying case you can order from the Mineral Air website.

Light work for the pro

“Unless we’re working in a dedicated photography studio or salon environment, elite professional makeup artists always lug around heavy, bulky lighting with them on jobs,” Carlo explains.

PROBLEM SOLVED: Carlo says, “YA-MAN’s LED Vanity Mirror works brilliantly as a light source on professional jobs. I appreciate its lightweight streamlining and brightness options and clients appreciate its generous dimensions to check out the work.”

Magnifying solutions

Carlo offers a word of wisdom about magnifying mirrors, “Magnification is superb for precision tasks like tweezing, eyeliner touch up or applying false eyelashes. But it is NOT something by which you should judge your whole face; that is the job for a regular mirror held at an arm’s distance away. Because absolutely no one is going to stand an inch away from your face with a magnifying glass to judge your looks and you shouldn’t either.”

PROBLEM SOLVED: The LED Vanity Mirror’s moveable magnetic round mirror can be easily positioned so you can do closeup work with it in one corner and then step away to look at your full face in the other.

What’s the difference?

Mineral Air offers two device-plus-formula categories, one for makeup, the other for skincare.
Mineral Air original (MA) includes its AirMist Device, an easy to use, everyday consumer tool that rivals professional airbrushing in its cosmetic application of our eponymous foundation, blush, or bronzer. Mineral Air Skin (MAS) features the Renewal Serum System with its ElixerMist Device for lightweight vaporized delivery.

“The magnifying mirror is NOT something by which you should judge your whole face; that is the job for a regular mirror held at an arm’s distance away. Because absolutely no one is going to stand an inch away from your face with a magnifying glass to judge your looks and you shouldn’t either.”
