Who Loves the Velvety New Mineral Air Setting Mattifier and Why

Mineral Air fans welcome the latest member of our beautiful micronized family, the Mineral Air Setting Mattifier. Photo by Jason Clark at jasonclarkfoto.com.
Mineral Air’s latest – the just launched Setting Mattifier delivering a flawless, velvety finish – was created by popular demand. Applied with the Mineral Air Application System (AirMist device + its own Reservoir Head), the Setting Mattifier’s micronized mineral mist is able to lock down a look and absorb oil without clogging pores or drying out the skin. Everyone now has the option to achieve the finish they like depending on the effect they’re going for.
Because it is dual-function product that works on all skin types, Setting Mattifier itself offers a lot of versatility (as do all other Mineral Air makeups.) Misted over eye makeup or lipstick as a fixative for instance, it helps color cosmetics last much longer than they would on their own.
Plus, it has wide appeal for a lot of different people too. Here are a few we know of so far:
Oilier complexions
Say goodbye to the Battle of the T-Zone where the oil breaks through in an hour. Used over makeup, Setting Mattifier is a way that oiler or acne-prone complexions can enjoy regular Mineral Air Four-in-One Foundation, Blush or Bronzer application but finished as a lightweight, velvety matte. Unlike typical powders, weightless Setting Mattifier is never chalky or dull and the smooth, no-shine surface will last for hours.
For those with oily skin, one person’s glow can look like another one’s grease. On non-makeup days, you can safely mist Setting Mattifier onto bare skin or over sunscreen too and still enjoy the luxury of going shine-free for the day. Plus, since the AirMist device works so precisely, you can target just the T-zone if you like.
Professional makeup artists
Professional makeup artists are some of the most vocal enthusiasts of Mineral Air out there. But one note we received from beauty pros when we first launched was that under hot lights of a photo shoot or film set, they wanted the option of a less reflective finish too. Enter Setting Mattifier and voila!, done and done.
Mask wearers
On its own, regular Mineral Air makeup (foundation, blush, bronzer) can last up to 10 hours without the need of touchups. This steadfast property makes it doubly attractive for these times where we put our masks on and off throughout the day (and night). Now, Setting Mattifier further strengthens your makeup longevity under the mask but without smothering the skin.
Gentlemen
Since Mineral Air Setting Mattifier works just as well on bare skin, men are liking it too for keeping an over-oily complexion from looking greasy. Used in the morning or after a post-workout shower, it works both full face as well as for targeted areas like the T-Zone or the hairline.
What’s the difference?
Mineral Air offers two device-plus-formula categories, one for makeup, the other for skincare.
Mineral Air original (MA) includes its AirMist Device, an easy to use, everyday consumer tool that rivals professional airbrushing in its cosmetic application of our eponymous foundation, blush, or bronzer.
Mineral Air Skin (MAS) features the Renewal Serum System with its ElixerMist Device for lightweight vaporized delivery.
